After an amazing night with Dr. Anny Sauvageau in October, the Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series gets ready to welcome our next fabulous guest Sharon Wood on November 27!
Sharon Wood, who loved climbing and hiking from the time she was young, did something in 1986 that no other woman had done before — she became the first woman to climb Mount Everest. Since her ascent, she has worked as an inspirational speaker and has addressed over a thousand audiences. Sharon was also the first female to become a certified alpine guide with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. She has thirty-five years of experience as an independent climbing guide and instructor and has worked with worldwide organizations, Outward Bound and the YMCA. In l992, Sharon cofounded and chaired a fully accredited private school, grades K through six for seven years. Sharon lives and thrives in Canmore, Alberta as a mountain guide and considers raising two high-spirited boys to be her greatest accomplishment.
Please join us at the next Enbridge Famous 5 Speaker Series at MacDonald Island Park on November 27 as we listen to Sharon tell us about her trek up the mountain!
